Finnie: SNP forgotten its pledge on carer allowances

Commenting on the strategy launched today by the Scottish Government on caring in Scotland, Liberal Democrat Health spokesperson Ross Finnie MSP said:

“This announcement is a good opportunity to reflect on the valuable contribution that carers in Scotland make in our society. Their hard work deserves to be recognised.

“However the SNP has failed on its pledge for carer allowances.

“Liberal Democrat research has shown that many carers in Scotland are unable to access the funds promised by SNP.

“The SNP Government needs to give an explanation to as to why they haven’t delivered
