New Regiment “Yet another illustration of RAF Leuchars importance” - Campbell

North East Fife’s Member of Parliament Sir Menzies Campbell has welcomed the news from the Ministry of Defence that RAF Leuchars is to be the home of the new RAF Regiment Field Squadron.

The move, which was confirmed in a letter to Sir Menzies from the Minister for the Armed Force Bill Rammell MP, will see 172 personnel deployed at Leuchars when the new unit is formed later this month.

“This is yet another illustration of the continuing importance of RAF Leuchars as part of the fabric of the United Kingdom defence.

“The RAF at Leuchars are good neighbours to the community and their presence makes a significant contribution to the area.”
