Labour in meltdown says Scott

9.54.28am BST (GMT +0100) Wed 17th Sep 2008

Commenting on the ministerial resignation of David Cairns, Tavish Scott leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats said:

“This resignation is a bloody blow for Labour in their Scottish heartlands.

“As the economy faces meltdown and people’s bills go through the roof Labour’s attention is not on the country but on their own internal war.

“This Government has served its time and that time is now over.”
